Illness Guidelines

We follow the same illness guidelines as local public schools.

To help prevent the spread of illness and to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff, Inspired Minds Academy follows the same illness guidelines as local public schools. If you are unsure whether to send your child in, please call us at (615) 380-5232.

When a child should stay home, and when they may return
Symptom / illness	Should not attend	May attend
Fever	Fever of over 100°F	After a minimum of 24 hours since temperature 100°F or less, without the use of a fever-reducing medication (Advil or Tylenol)
Diarrhea or vomiting	Related to illness: diarrhea (2 or more episodes) or vomiting	After a minimum of 24 hours since the last episode of diarrhea or vomiting
Cough	Frequent and uncontrollable cough related to illness	When cough is less frequent and improving Cough not related to illness (i.e. allergies)
Sore throat	Symptoms of strep throat	Resolving symptoms Written release from medical provider
Rash or skin infection	Signs of illness-based rash or skin infection that is undiagnosed by a medical provider	When rash is resolving Written release from medical provider
Conjunctivitis (pink eye)	Eye (typically one) appears to be infected Eyelashes are matted Thick drainage is present	Resolving symptoms Written release from medical provider
Pest infestations, pediculosis (head lice)	Live lice are present	With proof of treatment and head free of live lice
